St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital seeks to: “advance cures, and means of prevention, for pediatric catastrophic diseases through research and treatment.” It acts on its founder – Danny Thomas’s – vision that “no child is denied treatment based on race, religion or a family’s ability to pay.” It seeks to be the international leader in improving the treatment and prevention of catastrophic diseases in children. It does this though: the provision of quality patient care; the conduct of fundamental, translational and clinical research as a way of elucidating biological mechanisms; a comprehension of disease pathogenesis; better diagnosis and more.
