Ogilvy & Mather Worldwide

One of the world’s largest advertising, marketing and public relations firms, Ogilvy & Mather is based in Manhattan, New York and has 450 offices in 120 countries with about 18,000 employees on staff.

O & M was founded in 1948 by David Ogilvy. At the time there was a staff of two and no clients. By the 1960s the company was a major advertising agency utilizing the branding strategy, successfully building the brands of American Express, BP, Ford, Barbie, Maxwell House, IBM, Kodak, and many more.

Ogilvy was purchased by the WPP Group in 1989.
