Micky Arison

Micky Arison became CEO of Carnival Corporation (the largest cruise operator in the world) in 1979 and its Chairman in 1990.  In April 2003, he became the Chairman and CEO of Carnival PLC too.  He began in the sales department at Carnival Cruise Lines and worked his way up, becoming Reservations Manager in 1974. In 1976 he became VP of Passenger Traffic and three years later, he became Carnival’s President. It was Arison, who, in 2003, spearheaded the transaction combining Carnival Corporation’s six cruise operators with the six brands of P&O Princess Cruises: Princess Cruises, P&O Cruises, Ocean Village, Swan Hellenic, AIDA Cruises and P&O Cruises Australia, creating a truly international cruise operator with the leading cruise brands in both North America and Europe. Arison has been with the company for close to four decades.
