Kroger

Kroger was founded in 1883 by Bernard Kroger in Ohio.  In 1983 it acquired Dillon companies.  Today it is a successful chain of US supermarkets (largest in America), boasting $82billion in sales in 2010, running 3,574 stores.  Indeed, it is not even being negatively affected by higher food prices and its sales are increasing. Its employees are represented by the United Food and Commercial Workers Union.
