Joe Tucci was appointed CEO, President, (2001) and Chairman of the Board of Directors of EMC Corporation. As well, since the beginning of 2006, Tucci was appointed company Chairman. He also held the position of COO when he started at the company in 2001. Based at company headquarters in Hopkinton, Tucci has engineered the company through an era of significant revitalization, continued market share gains, and impressive growth. With Tucci at the helm, EMC acquired Isilon, about which he said in a statement, “the unmistakable waves of cloud computing and ‘big data’ are upon us. Customers are looking for new ways to store, protect, secure and add intelligence to the vast amounts of information they will accumulate over the next decade.”
