Boasting a membership of more than 200,000, Holmes Place was founded back in the 1980s by Allan Fisher, in an attempt to “help people improve the quality of their lives by providing support, education and motivation in the all-important area of lifestyle and wellness.” It now has the reputation of being the place for getting “motivational support for our own individual ‘wellness’.” There is a team of more than 3,000 staff, in 75 addresses, spanning ten countries around Europe: Austria, Czech Republic, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Israel, Poland, Portugal, Spain and Switzerland. The company’s motto is to “move well, to eat well and to feel well.”
