Italian chocolate and confectionery products company Ferrero SpA was founded by Pietro Ferrero back in 1946. When Ferrero’s son Michele took over, the company underwent substantial growth. Management was then handed over to Michele’s sons (and Pietro’s grandsons). In a 2009 survey conducted by Reputation Institute, Ferrero is ranked as the world’s most reputable company. A family-owned company it has been described as “one of the world’s most secretive firms.” The Ferrero Group worldwide comprises: 38 trading companies, 18 factories and approximately 21,500 employees.
