CEO and founder of EvelineCharlesTM, Eveline Charles first started cutting and styling hair professionally in 1974. It took her a decade from that date to open her first salon in Edmonton. She has been an innovator in the industry through the creation of various unique, high-end beauty destinations throughout Western Canada. To meet the challenges of successful growth, Charles knew she had to respond to two needs: the provision of top level services and products and – just as important – retaining loyal employees. It was Charles herself who completely developed her reputation in the industry as she changed from commission-based remuneration to a staff skill-based wage system. She set out to provide her employees with stability by ensuring a regular, steady pay check; health benefits and a spirit of teamwork.
