The goal of Cardinal Health is to enhance the cost-effectiveness of healthcare. To do this, it makes it easier for pharmacies, hospitals and ambulatory care sites to focus on patient care while reducing costs, improving efficiency and quality, and increasing profitability. It currently boasts over 30,000 employees throughout the world. Two recent acquisitions of the company – Zuellig Pharma China and Kinray – is set to add around 2,000 higher-margin independent pharmacies to its distribution channel.
