Established in 1935 by William McCormick Blair, William Blair & Company is today an international investment banking and asset management firm. Headquartered in Chicago, it also has offices in other locations worldwide including New York, London, Shanghai and Zurich. Over a thousand people work at William Blair, including 174 partners. It has around $59bn in assets (as of year-end 2012) and boasts independent, equity research. William Blair & Company is also a member of the Financial Industry Regulatory Authority and the Securities Investor Protection Corporation.
