Shahzad Uppal is a part of the DLR Group’s electrical engineering team. He has wide array of expertise in the K-12 Education, Civic, and Justice industries, with a special focus on: designing power distribution, lighting and special systems design such as voice/data, fire alarm, nurse call, security, sound systems, and HVAC integration. He establishes and maintains strong professional relationships with his clients, design team peers, and the contractor. Part of the work he has done in the past has helped engineer the company being the recipient of a $350,000 grant from Washington Sustainable Schools Program (WSSP) for Pioneer Middle School; prototype development and implementation for four new elementary schools in Federal Way, Wash.; energy-saving design for the Evergreen State College CAB Renovation (that facilitated the retrieval of an LEED Gold certification for the project) and more.
