Scott McNealy

Scott McNealy co-founded Sun Microsystems in 1982.  Prior to this, he was Onyx Systems’ manufacturing director.  During his work there, he was approached by Khosla to help provide the necessary organizational and business leadership for the fledgling company. The name “Sun” came from Bechtolsheim’s original SUN (Sanford University Network computer project, the SUN workstation. Two years later, he became company CEO, rendering him one of the few CEOs of a major corporation to have been in this position for over two decades.
