Richard A. Barasch is Chairman and CEO of Universal American Financial Corporation. He was appointed President in 1991; CEO four years later and Chairman of the Board at the end of 1997. As well, he is the Chairman and CEO of American Progressive Life and Health Insurance Company at New York Inc. Barasch has also been the director of American Progressive Life and Health Insurance Company of New York subsidiary since 1991. In addition, he has held positions with subsidiaries since their acquisition or organization.
