Northwest Airlines

Founded in 1926, Northwest Airlines Corp was a major US carrier until it was acquired by Delta Airlines Inc through a merger approved in 2008, creating the largest airline company in the world. Northwest was based in Eagan, Minnesota outside of Minneapolis-St. Paul International Airport. Post World War II Northwest was the leading airline in the trans-Pacific corridor with a hub in Tokyo, Japan.
Before merging with Delta, Northwest was the sixth largest airline worldwide.
