Norbert Reithofer

Norbert Reithofer is the CEO of Bayerische Motoren Werke AG, aka BMW. He joined the company in 1987, as Chief of Maintenance Planning, and from there – due to his hard work and dedication to the firm – he moved up the corporate ladder fast.  Just two years after joining the firm, he was appointed to Director of Controlling Technologies, and in 1991, joined the directorship of the Body-in-White production division of the BMW firm.  Other positions Reithofer has held at the firm include: Technical Director of BMW in the company’s South African operations President of BMW’s manufacturing corporation in South Carolina; Director of Production of BMW; a member of the Management Board of BMW and leader of the company’s South Carolina factory.  With Reithofer at the helm, BMW has enjoyed more success due to greater networking and factory flexibility.  In 200, he cut half the production duration of the 3-Series BMW from six to three months.  Today, under his leadership, BMW can really be viewed as one of the leaders in the automobile industry.
