Mattel, Inc.

Since May of 2000, Robert A. Eckert has been the CEO and Chairman of Mattel Inc.  Mattel has many responsibilities and missions.  Their Corporate Responsibility mission is to positively impact their customers, their products and our planet by playing responsibly.  This means that they play fair by aligning their decision-making processes with the company’s values.  They play together, by working as a team with employees, partners, vendors and regulators to create safe toys for children around the world.

In addition, they play to grow by efforts to work smarter and to reduce our impact on the environment.  Finally, they play with passion by volunteering in their communities and by helping underprivileged children to experience the joy of play.

Mattel is recognized among the “100 Best Corporate Citizens” as one of the “World’s most Ethical Companies” and as one of FORTUNE Magazine’s “100 Best Companies to Work For.”  Certainly, all of this reflects CEO Robert Eckert’s efforts and the efforts of those around him at Mattel Inc.

Along with his commitment to Mattel Inc. as their CEO and Chairman, Robert A. Eckert also dedicates himself to many worthy causes.  He is on the Board of Directors of the Los Angeles World Affairs Council, among other endeavors.  This is Southern California’s premiere public affairs forum and one of the leading organizations of its kind in the United States.

This organization looks to promote better understanding of important issues and current world affairs by hosting unique gatherings of prominent speakers.  These speakers include top political figures, business leaders, experts in various fields and more who share their knowledge on a wide range of topics.  During its five decades, the World Affairs Council has hosted more than 250 heads-of-state, international policy makers and top government officials.
