L.L. Bean, Inc. has been selling outdoor equipment and clothing for 100 years. Founded in 1912 by Leon Leonwood Bean. Headquartered in Freeport, Maine down the road from their first store, L.L. Bean today has annual sales of more than $1.44 billion. Their first priority is to have satisfied customers who receive the best products possible. They are a privately held, family-owned company. In 2011, they employed over 4500 people year-round and they had more than 8700 people working for them during the 2011 holiday season.
