Kohlberg Kravis Roberts & Company is an American-based multi-national private equity firm based in New York City. The company sponsors and manages private equity investment funds. Since its founding in 1976 KKR has directed more than $400 billion worth of private equity deals, and is most famous for its leveraged buyouts, of which it is a pioneer.
