John Fahey is the chairman and CEO of the National Geographic Society. He was elected as chairman in January of 2011. He served as president and chief executive officer from March of 1998, as well as the chairman of the executive committee of the Society’s board of trustees and of National Geographic’s Education Foundation.
Mr. Fahey joined the Society in 1996 as the first president and chief executive officer of National Geographic Ventures. Ventures is the Society’s non-profit taxable subsidiary.
