John Caparella was appointed President and COO of The Venetian, The Palazzo and The Sands Exposition and Convention Center in 2011. This renders him responsible for the entire workings of the company’s two main Las Vegas Strip properties, which, together, has 7,000 rooms (as well as the Sands Expo). Prior to this appointment, Caparella was COO of Gaylord Hotels, but even before that, he had been working in the hospitality industry for close to 30 years. The President of Las Vegas Sands, on Caparella’s appointment, believed he would “bring a fresh approach to the two Strip resorts.”
