With their 34 locations, they respond to customer needs by having their production facilities close to the markets that they are serving. They are able to establish close customer relations in this way. Under Nichols leadership, ITW acquired many other companies and developed new product lines. This included the acquisition of Heartland Components, Southern Gage, N.A. Woodworth, Magnaflux and many others.
