Georgia Gulf Corporation

Georgia Gulf Corporation was created in 1984 as a leveraged buyout of the Georgia-Pacific Corporation led by James Kuse. At the time Georgia-Pacific was a large producer of a variety of forest related products. After the takeover by Kuse Georgia Gulf became immediately successful mostly due to its ability to take advantage of increased demand for salt and petrochemical products.

Today Georgia Gulf is an integrated manufacturer and marketer of high quality chemical and plastic products.  Georgia Gulf’s products are distributed internationally, while the company continues to seek superior long-term growth and return for shareholders. The company also strives to protect the environment and maintain the highest standards of safety and an overall concern for the communities in which the company finds itself.
