Based in Michigan, Ford Motor Company is the second largest automaker in America and the fifth largest in the world. Founded by Henry Ford, the company has both Ford and Lincoln brands as well as a presence in Japan (through Mazda) and the UK (through Aston Martin). The company has sold some of its subsidiaries in recent years like Jaguar, Land Rover and Volvo. In 2008, Ford had approximately 213,000 employees spread around 90 addresses globally. And even during the auto industry recession, the company still generated a unit volume of 4.8m in 2009.
