Charles A. Heimbold, Jr.

Born in 1933 in New Jersey, Charles A. Heimbold is a businessman that made his mark as CEO of Bristol-Myers Squibb from 1994 until 2001. Heimbold focused his talents on creating a scientific-based and world-leading drug company. The company also owns powerful consumer divisions including Enfamil baby food formulas and Clairol hair care products. Pharmaceuticals represent about 62 percent of sales for Bristol-Myers Squibb, while the rest comes from consumer products.

Heimbold graduated from Villanova University in 1954 with a BA, and then was a scholar at The Hague Academy of International Law in 1959. He has an LLB from the University of Pennsylvania and an LLM from New York University. From 2001 until 2004 Heimbold was the US Ambassador to Sweden, and he served on the board of Bristol-Myers Squibb, the Federal Reserve Bank of New York, Exxon Mobil and Mobil Corporation.
Heimbold is also active in Republican politics, serving on committees to elect Bush-Cheney in 2004, McCain-Palin in 2008, McCain for Senate in 1998, and many others.
