Barnes & Noble is the second-largest magazine retailer in the USA, carrying approximately 5,500 magazine titles and almost a thousand newspaper titles. It sells around 300 million books annually including over a million book titles. While only around 5 percent of its sales are bestsellers, over 50,000 small publishers and university presses are a growing part of its business. As well, the company pours around 60 million beverages; bakes over 6 million cookies and scones and grills around 3 million sandwiches each year. In 2009 the company launched the world’s largest eBookstore (now known as NOOK Bookstore™).
